Every month Beggahuna draws a sketch, exclusively for Swirlydoos.
Here's this month's sketch:

And here is my take on it:
Grandson
This picture is of me holding my grandson for the very first time.
I can not express in words how I felt. Only a grandma will understand.

This month Swirlydoos features some of these
G OR G E O U S butterflies, in one of the AddOns.
These are handmade by fellow DT member Angelica Franssen.
And honestly, they are soooo beautiful!
Angelica has her own Etsy store where she sells lots and lots of handmade embellishments.
I think you WANNA visit her store.
Click on the name of her store to see, absolute *MUST HAVE* embellishments.

May 2013
This page is about my youndest daughter who got her braces finally off after 2 years.

This month we got some raffia in the Main Kit and I used it to make some fancy leaves.

These beautiful mint color Prima roses, came also in the Main Kit. I love the subtile script on them. I gave them a little shimmer by using Iridescent Medium (Windsor & Newton)

Look at the detail of these Beautiful butterflies, by Angelica Franssen.

I'm sorry for the smearing on the journaling. I found that it is impossible to write over Distress Paints, with a fineliner, so I had to go over the letters more than once, which makes them a little blur looking. I didn't mind in the end cause the Prima stencil I used was a distressed one, (no straight lines) So, I'm okay with it.

And lastly I have a card to share. I love the quote on it, cause it is oh so TRUE!
Please remember to visit Angelica's Little Scrap Shop
for the most gorgeous butterflies and other embellishments.
You won't regret it!

I know I say this all the time, but..... gosh I love THIS KIT!!!!

Knowledge come from.....
This is an older picture of our eldest DD. She Always was a girl who studied hard, and did her very best!
Now, she is a mom herself and comes to realise that being a mom wasn't something she could study for. The love she has for her child, opened up a whole new world of wisdom.
Here are some close up's:

I made that little butterfly, with a cookie mold and Martha Stewart Crafters Clay.
After it dried I added some Ranger's Glue 'N Seal and sprikled it with Ultra Fina glitter.

The stencil I used came in this month's Mediums AddOn. I added a tiny dot in the center using Stickles in diamond. I made some circles using Viva Decor Modeling cream in light blue (came in last month's Medium AddOn) and some different sized lids.

This is one of the beautiful Blue Fern Cipboard pieces that came in the Main Kit.
I coated it with some sand colored acrylic paint. After drying I added a coat of Ultra Thick Enamel (by Ranger) When heat-setted I sprinkle a little Ultra fine glitter over it.

Also in the Main Kit, came a box of Prima Marketing Wooden Embellishments.
(They are so gorgeous!!!!!)
The pink lace came from Swirlydoos last month's kit.

Birthday Boy - sketch page
Recently, my sweet little grandson, celebrated his first birthday.
I snapped this picture when he had a brief little snuggle moment, with his mommy.

I flipped the sketch, that came in this month's kit, and this page came together so quick.
And OH MY... look at those gorgeous little beads. Their by Finnabair, and come in the Main Kit.
To let them stick I used Ranger's Glue 'N Seal.

Journaling reads:
You are such a little cutie with a mind of your own!
Normally you take a nap for a couple of hours. But not on your birthday!
A 15 minute nap was all you had to give in to, and even though you were sooooo tired!
You were constantly yawning. But HEY
You can't miss your own birthday, now can you?!!

Aren't they beautiful? these Prima roses.... I just love them so much!

Love this little clusters of beads, and how the Glue 'N Seal dries up transperantly.

And I have a couple af cards to share:

love - hope - imagine - believe - dream

Dream
For this card I did a step by step photo tutorial. If you want to check it out, scroll to the blogpost below!

Thanks

Dream

and here's a close up:

Saturday Card tutorial

Hello Everyone.

So.... I'm going to give you a bigger sneak, then we already did posted in the announcement thread. This card is made with the, October "Treasured Yesterdays" kit.
OMG ladies you will going to LOVE this kit.

And here is how it came together:

For the base of my card I folded an A4 piece of cardstock double, and trimmed off the edges till it meassured 5.3/8 x 6.1/2 inch. My fold is on the left side.

Then I cut 2 strips of PP. 1 for the bottom, 5.1/4 x 1.1/4 inch and one for the top,
5.1/4 x 7/8 of an inch.

This is the PP I chose for the center piece of my card, and I cut it at 5.1/4 x 4.1/2 inch

Then the barcode strip (of the same paper I used) was cut in 2 strips of 5.1/4 inch wide.
the little piece at the top is an excess piece.

I slightly distressed the edges of the papers and inked them up, using Vintage Photo Distress ink. Glued them to the base card like this.

The top strip and 1 of the barcode strips: I got their edges distressed and inked. Glued them down like in the picture.

Then I took this note card. I cut 7/8 on an inch off, of the left side and 1.3/8 inch from the bottom. Then I eyeballed the center and tore the paper (towards me) till I recieved a, kind of triangle shape.

like so

I glued it to the card like this, but didn't add glue all the way to the edges. I wanted to be able to curl/roll some of it up.

The "ïn between" space was filled with a piece of cardboard

And on top of that I glued the second piece of the barcode strip.

Then I tore off a piece from a mesh bad-sponge for adding texture.

I took some hemp cord, wrapped it around my hand 3 times and stapled it in the middle.

Both the mesh and the hemp cord were glued down like this. The little white piece in the middle is to prevent getting glue on my fingers.

Look at that texture!!!! I love it.

I took 2 of the leaves off of the flowers, that came in the prima flowers pack. Inked their edges and glued them to the top like this.

I chose the yellow rose and one of the wooden embellishments to be my focal piece.

On one of the stickpins that came in the Main kit, you find this little clock. I removed the pin and glued it to the wooden frame like this.

From the lace, I cut 3 little strips.....

and glued them like this. 2 at the right top and one on the left bottom.

Then I thought that I could cut this wooden embellishment to just use the word "dream"
Well.... "in my dreams" The top layer came off and I thought, oh well, then we only use the top layer. I inked up the edges with walnut stain distress ink, directly from the pad and left it to dry.

Then I added some distress stickles to my flower and I fussy cut a tiny yellow butterfly which I placed at the right top.

In the meantime the ink had dried, I glued my word "dream" in place. And for the finishing touch I glued 3 golden pearls in the left bottom corner.

And I called it DONE!
