We have some absolutely beautiful scrapbook projects for you to see today !!
I know I say this all the time, but..... gosh I love THIS KIT!!!!
Knowledge come from.....
This is an older picture of our eldest DD. She Always was a girl who studied hard, and did her very best!
Now, she is a mom herself and comes to realise that being a mom wasn't something she could study for. The love she has for her child, opened up a whole new world of wisdom.
Here are some close up's:
I made that little butterfly, with a cookie mold and Martha Stewart Crafters Clay.
After it dried I added some Ranger's Glue 'N Seal and sprikled it with Ultra Fina glitter.
The stencil I used came in this month's Mediums AddOn. I added a tiny dot in the center using Stickles in diamond. I made some circles using Viva Decor Modeling cream in light blue (came in last month's Medium AddOn) and some different sized lids.

This is one of the beautiful Blue Fern Cipboard pieces that came in the Main Kit.
I coated it with some sand colored acrylic paint. After drying I added a coat of Ultra Thick Enamel (by Ranger) When heat-setted I sprinkle a little Ultra fine glitter over it.

Also in the Main Kit, came a box of Prima Marketing Wooden Embellishments.
(They are so gorgeous!!!!!)
The pink lace came from Swirlydoos last month's kit.
Birthday Boy - sketch page
Recently, my sweet little grandson, celebrated his first birthday.
I snapped this picture when he had a brief little snuggle moment, with his mommy.

I flipped the sketch, that came in this month's kit, and this page came together so quick.
And OH MY... look at those gorgeous little beads. Their by Finnabair, and come in the Main Kit.
To let them stick I used Ranger's Glue 'N Seal.

Journaling reads:
You are such a little cutie with a mind of your own!
Normally you take a nap for a couple of hours. But not on your birthday!
A 15 minute nap was all you had to give in to, and even though you were sooooo tired!
You were constantly yawning. But HEY
You can't miss your own birthday, now can you?!!

Aren't they beautiful? these Prima roses.... I just love them so much!

Love this little clusters of beads, and how the Glue 'N Seal dries up transperantly.
And I have a couple af cards to share:
love - hope - imagine - believe - dream

For this card I did a step by step photo tutorial. If you want to check it out, scroll to the blogpost below!
and here's a close up:
I love all this texture!

And here's a "warm you up" for my next saturday tutorial, which is on the 25th...
1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 ----->>>>> 15 minutes cards!
That's right!!!!! 5 cards with step by step photo tutorials.

Saturday Card tutorial

Hello Everyone.
So.... I'm going to give you a bigger sneak, then we already did posted in the announcement thread. This card is made with the, October "Treasured Yesterdays" kit.
OMG ladies you will going to LOVE this kit.

And here is how it came together:

For the base of my card I folded an A4 piece of cardstock double, and trimmed off the edges till it meassured 5.3/8 x 6.1/2 inch. My fold is on the left side.

Then I cut 2 strips of PP. 1 for the bottom, 5.1/4 x 1.1/4 inch and one for the top,
5.1/4 x 7/8 of an inch.

This is the PP I chose for the center piece of my card, and I cut it at 5.1/4 x 4.1/2 inch

Then the barcode strip (of the same paper I used) was cut in 2 strips of 5.1/4 inch wide.
the little piece at the top is an excess piece.

I slightly distressed the edges of the papers and inked them up, using Vintage Photo Distress ink. Glued them to the base card like this.

The top strip and 1 of the barcode strips: I got their edges distressed and inked. Glued them down like in the picture.

Then I took this note card. I cut 7/8 on an inch off, of the left side and 1.3/8 inch from the bottom. Then I eyeballed the center and tore the paper (towards me) till I recieved a, kind of triangle shape.

like so

I glued it to the card like this, but didn't add glue all the way to the edges. I wanted to be able to curl/roll some of it up.

The "ïn between" space was filled with a piece of cardboard

And on top of that I glued the second piece of the barcode strip.

Then I tore off a piece from a mesh bad-sponge for adding texture.

I took some hemp cord, wrapped it around my hand 3 times and stapled it in the middle.

Both the mesh and the hemp cord were glued down like this. The little white piece in the middle is to prevent getting glue on my fingers.

Look at that texture!!!! I love it.

I took 2 of the leaves off of the flowers, that came in the prima flowers pack. Inked their edges and glued them to the top like this.

I chose the yellow rose and one of the wooden embellishments to be my focal piece.

On one of the stickpins that came in the Main kit, you find this little clock. I removed the pin and glued it to the wooden frame like this.

From the lace, I cut 3 little strips.....

and glued them like this. 2 at the right top and one on the left bottom.

Then I thought that I could cut this wooden embellishment to just use the word "dream"
Well.... "in my dreams" The top layer came off and I thought, oh well, then we only use the top layer. I inked up the edges with walnut stain distress ink, directly from the pad and left it to dry.

Then I added some distress stickles to my flower and I fussy cut a tiny yellow butterfly which I placed at the right top.

In the meantime the ink had dried, I glued my word "dream" in place. And for the finishing touch I glued 3 golden pearls in the left bottom corner.

And I called it DONE!

We are excited to move our Swirlydoos gallery to Facebook for easier posting!

Here's a list of advantages that we know you will love:
*You will no longer have to resize your pictures!
*You will be able comment on projects without typing in a captcha code.
*This gallery will be a closed Facebook group, so you can comment and "like" projects all you want without "clogging up" your non-scrappy friends' feeds! (But, please invite your scrappy friends!)

So, here's how you can get started:

  1. You will need a Facebook account.
  2. Request to join!
  3. You might already be added if you are friends with members of the design team who have already added you.

So we can maintain some ORDER in the group and be able to find layouts posted to challenges and monthly kit projects, we will be posting to ALBUMS. Posting to albums keeps things organized and prevents posts from "getting lost"  in cyberspace which happens with a lot of Facebook groups.
Here's how we post to albums:
Right under the Swirlydoos header for the group, there is a line that gives you some options to click on:

Members     Events     Photos     Files

  1. You need to click on PHOTOS.
  2.  A list of albums will come up, and you can add your pictures to any of these albums. For example, if you want to post your picture of a layout you made using the "Vintage Love" Sketch Challenge, there is an album for that! So, CLICK ON THE APPROPRIATE ALBUM.
  3. Clicking on an album takes you to another area. At the top right corner, CLICK ON "ADD PHOTOS." This will direct you to your photos on your computer, so grab it, add a description, and you are done!
If you want to add projects to the group that don't fit in a Swirlydoos category, you can create your own album! Here's how:

  1. Click on PHOTOS.
  2. Add an Album- title it with your name.
  3. Start adding pictures.

PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT post pictures of projects made with OTHER kits. DO NOT advertise for other kits, or your album will be removed. Thank you for understanding.

We hope you will join us and post your inspirational projects in our gallery!

More Swirlydoos September "Vintage Love" kit

Hello everyone,
Today I would like to share 2 more layouts, that I made with
There are still a few kits available in the Swirlydoos Boutique, and believe me...
You don't want to miss it.
This is my take on our monthly sketch.
I absolutely loved all the little tags that came in the Main Kit. And the die that you see here, is from Swirlydoos Boutique.
Krissy always delivers JAM_PACKED kits, and the flowers you see here in the picture, are from previous Swirlydoos Scrapbook kits.  And OMG.... The Stampendous Vintage Mica..... I just LOVE it!!!! This also came in the Main kit.
And look at those sweet little cork hearts from American Crafts... these also come in the Main Kit, as well as those vintage "Time Flies Charms" from Maya Road.
I tell ya.... You just NEED this kit!!!!!
Thankful & Blessed....
When I saw these papers, I knew exactly that I wanted to use this picture, and also the title and journaling, describes what I feel when I hold this picture. The comfort that only a mom can give her child is so heartwarming and, well..... the most priceless thing in the world.
I did some stitching (without any thread, obviously)  and love how much interests that adds.
The beautiful black lace that came in the Main Kit, was wrapped under the paper strip and secured with a little blob of Fabri-Tac (which can be bought in the Boutique)

Here you see some handmade flowers, using Tim Holtz dies (Tattered florals and Pineapple) and one of the gorgeous Prima Cartographer - Roamer Flowers, which also came in the Main Kit

The bling circle was made from a piece of bling fabric, that came in a previous Swirlydoos Kit.
I simply cut a strip off of it and glued it down using Beacon Gem-Tac.

Here's another shot of some handmade flowers. In the Mixed Mediums AddOn you get so many amazing new products, which I used on these flowers. The lighter one was colored with Lindy's Stamp Gang, Magical Micas - in Golden Sleigh Bells. The darker one was dabbed with Viva Decor PaperSoft in Walnut Brown.
