breathing summer.

It is Card Day over at Swirlydoos
and today I posted a new step by step photo tutorial for this card:

and here are some close ups:

Those goreous tiny flat backed pearls, I bought from De Hobby Kaart.nl
I bought quit some different colors, cause they were really great priced.

The lady owner from De Hobby Kaart.nl was very sweet, and I promissed her to write something about using the Glue Pencil.
This is a very handy (cheap) tool to help you pick up the pearls, and this way you can place them quick and precisely onto your project.
 It works like MAGIC!!!!

here's a pic of it:

It only costs €1,- that is like $1.25 for this perfect tool!

Anyways... seems like I am rambling along....

A step by step photo tutorial for the card above, can be found HERE

Hope you'll play along too.

Tilda Sewingbird

Today I'm sharing the mini album I did, using the Tilda Sewingbird line. So here we go...
To create the shape of my mini album, I used the mint colored sign on the paperpad itself.

I cut it out and used it as a guide. I cut a straight line on one edge, for my binding.
And here's how my front cover came out.

Isn't that cute?!!

I traced the lines of the design with Tulip white Puffy Paint, let it sit for half an hour and heat setted it.

I added some tule and flowers and that cute little bird, which I think is by Make Me. I don't know for sure, cause it was a gift from my SIL. The bird was also covered in Puffy Paint.

Page 1&2
I sanded my top corner on the first page, and added some laces and Tilda Design Ribbons.
The second page speaks for itself.

Page 3&4
I cut out that gorgeous teal colored sign and decorated it with a metal ornament.
Page 4 is folded in half and closed with a string of twine. It is a journal page, but also has room for pictures.

On the backside of page 4, (front of page 5)  I added this gorgeous beaded trim.

This beautiful journal card, can be found on 1 of the die cut sheets, in the paperpad.

Isn't she pretty?!!!

Page 7&8
Page 8 is a 10 inch long strip of paper, which is folded in half, to create extra journal space.

Page 9&10

Page 11&12

The base for this page is cArt-Us white cardstock, which I brushed Gesso on.  Inked and spritzed it and when I was happy with the colors I placed some tulle over it and used Gesso to tack it down. After it was dry, I gave it a layer of Iridescent Medium for extra shimmer. Again like the front cover, I followed the design to bring on Puffy Paint lines.
I love that Beautiful dressform so much, that I didn't want to do anything to it. I mounted it with Make Me foam tape.

Here's a close up shot of the glimmer.

and this is my back cover.

Products used:
cArt-Us - cardstock white
Tilda Sewingbird line:

The journal card is from the die cut paper as well as the flowers. I wettened them a little to get them in shape, and in between I placed some gauze bandage. For the center of the flower, I used a glittery brad by We R Memory Keepers. I also put some tiny ones on the top of my card.

second reveal Swirlydoos.

This month's kit, is so versatile, Krissy mixed up the papers from
Bo Bunny's, weekend market with papers from, Simple Stories - Kaisercraft and Heidi Swapp.
Awesome mixture for various projects.
Here are my last projects with this kit.
First up is a Father's Day card.

I applied some Gesso on the top and bottom of the card and spritzed it with Dylusion Spray ink.

I added some hand stitching and some liquid pearls.
The Tim Holtz mini paperclips - Kaisercraft wood pocket watch and Bo Bunny key, came all in the kit.

This card was created while I was in the hospital. I took my kit with me, to kill the time.
I cut the flourish border out of one of the Bo Bunny papers. Also the drawers were cut out from one of the sheets.

The lace on the top, was colored with Dylussion Spray ink, in chocolate.
I glued the lace down using, 3 in 1 Advanced Craft Glue from Beacon

The next card was also created whilst I was in the hospital. I had to stay there for 3 days, so I thought I'd better take my kit.

I added some hand stitching, and some Gesso circles. The cute little suitcase is from Bo Bunny.
Paperclips are by Tim Holtz.

And this is the last page I created with this awesome kit.

This was also created while I was having a mini vacation in the hospital.
The nurses came to see what the heck I was doing, and they loved to see the crafting.

I had to put on my reading-glasses to scratch the names of my girls into this picture. lol
 (My eyes are getting old)
I simply used my kraft knife to scratch the letters into my picture, or better said... scratched the top layer off of my picture, to unveil the white underneath.

That cute little birdie on the branch, I got from my SIL. I got an AMAZING goodie bag from her and my brother. Filled with lots of stuff. I was totally flabbergasted by it!!!
I covered the bird with some white Puffy Paint and the branch was colored with Distress Ink.

For the finishing touch on this page, I placed some Kaisercraft rhinestones at the bottom of my page.

I pretty much used up my entire Swirlydoos kit. And guess what..............
Our new DT kits are on their way, WHooohooooooo
and OMG....... Krissy out did herself (again)
So, you'd better keep an eye on the Swirlydoos homepage, cause really,
you don't want to miss out on the July kit.

I recently was asked to join a Brand New Design Team.
It is the Creative Hobby Group DT (formerly Kars)
And last monday they send me the first kit to work with and ohhhhhhhhh such GORGEOUS stuff to play with.
I'll share with you in the coming days.

For now, I wish you all a very lovely weekend.

June kit

I tell ya, this kit is just soooooo

My first page is based on this month's sketch:

And here's my take on it:

For this page, I stepped out of my comfort zone (Shabby Chic)
because that wouldn't fit this picture.
this is my DH, acting Goofy....
Love his Blue eyes!!!!!!!

These Bo Bunny stickers, came in the kit. I thought this one would be perfect to go as part of my title, which say's:
A Father is someone you look up to, No matter how tall you are,
Hm Hm ....... Totally!!!!
(hence to the picture)

I attached this sticker to a giant mouse trap, (rat trap actually)
which I first painted with Gesso and then inked up with Distress ink.

I added these cute little Tim Holtz paperclips and did some stitching.

My next page is based on SwirlyHues storyboard (which will be revealed tomorrow)

and some close ups:

I mixed in some embellies from last month's kit.

I altered this photo corner, by adding Gesso and Chocolate Dylussions spray ink. After it dried I added black Archival ink with my finger.

I adore all of these Prima flowers, but the one with the danglings..... sigh.... gorgeous!!!!

My 3rd page is about me. I rarely do pages about me, and this picture was sitting in my
*to scrap* folder, for a long time. I simply couldn't find the right papers for it. And when this kit came in....

I kept it very simple. Used some Gesso in various spots and did some hand stitching.

Again... I just love the dangling flowers. The other one, just above the Prima one is made from the wide crinkle ribbon that came in the kit. I cut it in half (lenght wise) and made loops. glued it together in the middle and added another rose, from some rosetrim I have. The paper roses are hand made after a tutorial, Pascale did.
You can find her tutorial on her blog or HERE
That's it from me, so far!
