Second reveal Swirlydoos

Today I would like to share some more projects that are made with Swirlydoo's April
*Whispers of Spring kit.*
I tell ya... This was my FAVOURITE  kit ever
(I do keep hearing myself saying that every month tho)
I absolutely LOVE the Prima Marketing Almanac line, and have enjoyed and used up every little scrap I had.
I can not share everything just yet, but will eventually.

and some close ups.

I loved those gorgeous Chipboard elements.

I did some free hand-stitching

These roses are handmade after a tutorial that Pascale shared in the Swirlydoo's forum.
You can find that amazing tutorial right HERE
Leave her a line, I'm sure she will apreciate it.

My next project is a card on which I challenged the ladies in the forum (and myself) to use PP ONLY
So no pre-made embellishments at all. The only thing they could use was,
PP, 1 color of ink and a piece of string.

It was so hard to not add a bit of lace or pearls.

But... I could let myself go with the next project. Lace and pearls all over.

and some close ups

And of course, it can totally turn around.

So far the projects I can share.

Yesterday we had another Card color challenge and I picked the colors
Blue - Green - White and Tan or Brown.
And this is the card I made.

I wanted to make something with texture, so I duck in my first Aid kit and found some gauze bandage and some netting.
Step by step instructions for this card can be found HERE

That is it for today.
Our DT packages are on it's way and it seams to be another AMAZING kit.
Yahhhhhhh.

Have a great day everyone.

Paulien

I swear to god... this kit is soooooooooooo BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

I got my kit last wednesday and I simply couldn't stop playing with it.
My first page is based on this month's sketch:

and here's my take on it:

For the base of my page I painted a piece of fabric with acrylic paint.

I painted the black background paper with acrylic paint. When it was dry, I sanded it. The stitching is done by hand.

The peach colored flower is hand made after a tutorial by Pascale

The flower is an E-Line flower from Prima. I colored it with distress ink and stamped it with Archival.

My next page is based on this month's Swirly Hues palette and sketch
Here's the sketch:

and here's my page:

And here are some cards I made with this AMAZING kit.

The middle border is really standing out. Too bad the picture doesn't show it that well.

Those little beads, on the side, can slide up and down.

and the last project I have to share:

I really love how this card turned out. In real life it looks sooo much better than a picture could ever show.

I cut 3 strips of paper and added words to it.

attached it to my card with a Tim Holtz Swivel clasp.

That's it for me today. I hope you have enjoyed my projects and picked up an idea or two.

You have until midnight, eastern time, on April 11th to complete the hop. Winners will be announced on the Swirlydoos Blog on April 12th. In order to qualify to win here is what you need to do:

a delayed second reveal

Due to NO INTERNET!
It fell out on me, after I loaded my projects to the Swirlydoos gallery and Sb.com.
Hate it when that happens.
My second project reveal with my Swirlydoos French Quarter kit, was suppose to go live on friday, but then again... no internet. Sorry!
I need to split up my second reveal in 2 parts, cause I made so many projects with that kit.
So... here we go: second reveal part 1.

So Pretty

This page came together during cleaning up my scraps for my next project. I ALWAYS, clean up, before I start a new page or card. Putting everything back in the plastic packaging, the kit came in. and when I was putting it back in the plastic, all my scraps fell in place and I thought... oh that doesn't look bad... so... that's how this page was born. lol
Here are some close ups:

The tissue paper (on the left) came in the kit too. I scrumbled it and pleated it on the left side. I love how the burlap looked on the black velvet and decieded to leave it there. Added an old jeans button and some ball-chain.

I was curious if my border punch would work with velvet paper... I did add a thin cardstock, cause I was affraid the fibers in the velvet paper would tore, and punched through both layers.

I loved the little WhatNot cards, that came in the kit, and this one was a perfect fit fot this page. Added some fun stitching and some gesso.

My next project came together, the same way the above page did.
It is a wall hanging, on which I didn't spend too much time.

I colored some seambinding with Distress ink (peeled paint) for another project, and had this, left over. I added a line of hot glue and just dropped it on there, for a stem. love the outcome.

Added some stiching and did some fussy cutting.

Birthday wishes

The Glitz *French Kiss* WhatNot cards that came in the kit, are just perfect to make quick cards. I added some layers of (scraps) paper and some stitching.

Blanco card

This cute little birdcage card (WhatNot) was distressed using Ingvild Bolme's distressing tool and I inked the edges with distress ink.
The flower is hand made, from some fabric that I had.

You are invited.

Again I used a WhatNot card. I added some stitching to it, and made it the center of my card. The seambinding was colored with Tattered Rose and Spun Sugar Distress ink.

And this is my last project for today...

Me at 41

The fabric I used on this page... Well I just have sewn (sp) new curtains for my livingroom and I saved the leftovers and used them on my page.

The roses are made form Tim Holtz's pinecone die.

The big flower was made using Tim Holtz's Tattered Florals die. I also added a few layers of the tissue paper that came in the kit. The little flowers are made from some scrap fabrics, and that beautiful watch embellie came in the kit also. loved it!!!!

here you can see the dimension of the flower even better.

I did some hand stitching. I first hand draw a flourish on a piece of acrylic. Layed it over my page and poked my holes. Then I stitched them with a pink/coral color thread and because I wasn't quit happy with the result, I stitched it again with a thin black thread.

I hope you enjoyed my projects and picked up some trics from it.

Have a lovely Sunday!!!

Hugs,
Paulien
