More Swirlydoos.....

 

 

 

 

I sooooo love this GORGEOUS kit.... I simply couldn't stop making cards.
Here's one for you with step by step instructions.



And here's how it came together:


For the base of my card, I folded a piece of red cardstock double, and cut it down to 5.6 x 6.6 I distressed the edges a little and inked it up using Paper Soft.


Then I cut a piece of cream cardstock at 5.5 x 6.3 and randomly inked it up.


A piece of lace, (from my stash) was glued at the top, using Beacon 3 in 1 Craft Glue. Krissy has this in the boutique.


Then I cut another piece of cardstock at 5.1 x 5.2


I didn't do anything to the edges, just glued it on top of the lace.


I cut a paperbag at 4.4 x 5.3 and scratched the bottom edge with my nails. The notecard on the right side came in the Salutaions Main Kit.


I glued both pieces like so. First the piece of paperbag, then the notecard.


this "Documented Daily" strip was found on 1 of the papers. I slightly distressed it.


Then... OMW how I love this bling!!!! I cut a piece of it and glued it down, with the backside up.


I had a hard time, figuring out what to do with these beautiful wood icon scissors, so I tranformed them into a new embellishment.


I glued them together like this....


And put the rose on top of it.


Then I wanted to use this "With Love" tag and slightly distressed the edges and glued it down. I also glued down a piece of the red trim, using Beacon Fabri-Tac.


The transformed embellishment, was glued at the right top, bringing all the layers together.




I placed my flowers.(I rubbed some inka gold on my flowers) And for the finishing touch I added some copper liquid pearls.

Card tutorial using SWIRLYDOOS March *Salutations* kit

 

This card was made, using the Beautiful *Salutations* kit.

and here's how it came together


For the base of this card I cut 2 strips of cardstock, which were 6.5# high and 12 long. I glued 2 of the ends together, so that I was able to create a BIG card. After I folded it, it meassured 6.6 x 6.5 I will put the glued line in the front, cause it is going to be covered with paper.


I cut a piece of PP at 6.2 x 6.4. Distressed the edges.


I cut a little strip off this note card and.....


glued my paper and strip to the base card. Like so.


Then from another notecard I teared a little piece off. The one that is marked, I'm going to use.


I glued the little piece behind the black, distressed, notecard.


I glued a piece of lace over the bottom of the notecard, using 3 in 1 Craft Glue, (Krissy has these in the BOUTIQUE)


I selected 3 tags, from the bunch we got in the kit, and placed them like this.


I glued some of the gorgeous red trim (we call that très trim) just above the lace and then a strip of that amazing bling, to cover the line between the lace and red trim.

****TIP****


This beautiful red trim, raffles very quickly and to prevent that you have to snip of the raffles all you have to do is, add a dot of glue (I used hot glue) press it down on a non-stck craft mat and after it cooled down..................


you can easily cut it. This way you won't waste any of the trim .


I also folded a figure 8, or bow from the red trim


And glued it at the right side of my card. Topped it of with a piece of bling from the kit. I flipped the backside up. Then I added 1 of the Prima wood icon frames....


and some of the, love,love,lovely Petaloo flowers.


For the finishing touch I added some Liquid Pearls, (at the right top and left bottom) that came in last month's kit.

I had so much fun playing with this GORGEOUS *Salutations* kit... I could go on making lots and lots of cards.

First up is my sketch page. Beggahuna draws a new sketch every month, exclusively for Swirlydoos, monthly Sketch Challenge.

Here is the sketch she created for March.

 

And here's my take on it

 

Love is all it takes

 

 I, flipped the sketch, cause it worked better with the design I had in mind.
There are so many gorgeous goodies in this kit!!!

The Prima wood icon butterflies were covered with a coat of glossy accents, whilst wet I sprinkled it with Ranger, Antique Gold, embossing powder, heat set it and then I rubbed some blue, liquid Pearls  on it.



 The little brown hydrangea's came from my garden. The blue and red roses are from previous Swirlydoos kits.

 

 Here's another Prima wood icon, which I kept very plain. Originally it is a love potion bottle, I cut it with my Tim Holtz scissors, to create a different embellishment.

 

Play

This is little me. I find myself scrapping this picture again and again, so I decieded that it was now time to use the Original. lol. When I got my kit, I was quickly going through the papers and ALL the notecards that came in the kit. 2 fell out of my hands right on this black paper, and a page was born.  The trim that comes in the kit, is awesome to use, because it has wire in it, so you can shape it very easily.

This took forever, in between drying times, but... I love how it came out.

The little brown hydrangea's are from my garden. I wish you could see the sparkle, this page has in real life. This picture doesn't to justice, if I may say so myself.
