a mix of creativity

Wow... Times goes by so quickly.....
I know I said I would be back late last week, but there is always something, and after that something.......
Anyway,
today I want to share some projects, which I've done, in between the Swirlydoos kits.

The first project is a page which is created with our May kit, * So Chic *

I started this page with a, not perfect, circle of Gesso. (medium layer)
While the Gesso was still wet, I added some beads - glass glitter and some micro beads.

After it dried, I added Iridescent Medium, for the glimmer.
The lavender water-color circle, is made of Distress inks mixed with water. I just painted it on with a small brush.

The swirls were fussy cut, out of some other PP and I sprayed them with Dylussion Ink Spray.
Then added some white Puffy Paint.

The lovely soft yellow sprigs are by Melissa Frances. I rolled them in a puddle of Gesso to give them an even more softer look. Then for finishing it up, I added some Iridescent Medium.

My next project is a canvas.
I was browsing the internet while I came across this Gorgeous canvas, created by Jamie Dougherty.
(Jamie gave me her permission to post this)

This beautiful piece gave me so much inspiration, that I grabbed out my supplies and started to play.

I loved the fact that she used a piece of burlap for her background, so I totally copied that!

To add the glass snippets, I used Beacon's 3 in 1 Craft Glue.
This is a, clear, fast drying glue. Love it!!!!
The resin bird and metal embellies are all from Prima Marketing.

Also the Hydrangea flowers are from Prima. (E-line) I colored some of them with Distress inks and stamped on them, with Archival ink. Which is a permanent ink, so if I would color over it, it wouldn't smear.

The roses are handmade, using Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die. I took the smallest flower for them.
The brances are real ones, which I picked up in my garden.

I used my brick wall template, by The Crafters Workshop,
and some Gesso to create the brick wall. Then I outlined the bricks, with a small line of Puffy Paint.
I really love how this canvas turned out, and it is hanging next to my other canvas I did for our Swirly Palooza, earlier this year.

Sorry for the blur picture!

These ATC's were made from my left overs, from Swirlydoos April, * Whispers of Spring * kit.

I am so much in love with the Prima Marketing Almanac line, I could go on and on, creating with these papers.

Next are some cards I made, for Swirlydoos Card Adventure

For every card, there is a step by step photo tutorial, which can be found in Swirlydoos,
and a Puffy box

The template for this Puffy box can be found HERE

My last project for today, is made from an acrylic sheet.
This is what the front looks like:

This spoon image came from, a sheet of Prima Marketing paper. (their Printery line)
I cut it out and gave it a few layers of  Ranger's UTEE. (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel)

And this is what the inside of the card looks like:

To glue acrylics, you really NEED the perfect glue.
in the States you can get, Beacon Zip-Dry, but it won't ship to the Netherlands.
So I emailed to Beacon's Glue and a very friendly guy, called Mark Wilson, (Beacon UK)
answered all my questions and introduced me to Beacon's 3 in 1 Craft Glue.
I tell ya.... that is the most AWESOME glue!!!
You can glue acrylics, paper, and so much more. It is a clear, fast drying glue and it has an amazing strong hold. You really want to try it out!

So that is it for today....
My Swirlydoos DT kit came yesterday, so if you do not see me around... You know what I'll be doing. lol

Have a great day!!!

Paulien

Second reveal Swirlydoos

Well, a part of it. I have been so busy lately with lots of appointments, that I didn't get that much scrapping time, as I would like too. Anyway.... I did something right?!

So here we go. First up is a page, based on this month's Swirlydoos sketch.

And here's my take on it:

and some close up shots

This flower is from Kaisercraft and all I did was give it some glimmer using Iridescent Medium.
The lace is from May Arts, and to create the circle, I made tiny slits on one side (the inner circle) and glued it down using Magna Tac from Beacon's. I also glued the little beads down with it.

The mat I used for my picture, is actually a cookie wrapping. I added Iridescent Medium to it. And to frame my picture, I added white Puffy paint, around the edges.

Don't you just love that shimmer???

I just love all the flowers that came in this kit. And that BEAUTIFUL Prima Marketing bling.... sigh!!

It was my turn to do the anatomy page, so here's what I came up with

I did quit some fussy cutting.
A step by step, *How To* can be found HERE

And here's another page, that kept me busy but I totally love how it came out!!!!
The title of my page:
SHE - HE

This is the front of my layout.
I visioned an old barn door, which if you would open the doors, you would look right into a beautiful garden.

This is a wedding pic of my DH and I (22 years ago)
he hee... We were sooooo young!!

Here are some close up's.

The vine ribbon is from May Arts and I colored it with Dylusions Spray Ink, in Fresh lime and Chocolate, then gave them a touch of Iridescent Medium.
The lovely soft yellow sprigs are by Melissa Frances and I rolled them in a puddle of Gesso to get a even more softer look.

Lisa G always provides us with the most gorgeous butterfly files, ready to print out.
I covered mine with Magna Tac and added some, Diamond Dust - Glass Glitter.

To get a romantic feel to the picture I randomly added Gesso to it.

At the top of the inside I first added May Arts lace and dressed it up with tiny rhine stones and beads.

The border at the bottom is from Prima Marketing. It was grey originally and I painted it with white acrylic paint. Then I added white Puffy paint, some bling and pearls.

The journaling part:

says enough!!

Makes it even clearer.
This is totally the truth. We met in France, on our summer Holiday, and well.... the rest, you know.

Yesterday I posted a new Card challenge in our Card Adventure thread
And here's the card I made for it.

I was reading through Swirlydoos BlogHop comments, where I saw a comment that said, that the lady would love to get idea's to use buttons. That's when I decieded to make a Swirly Butterfly, covered with buttons. A step by step tutorial can be found HERE
I wanted the butterfly to be the center point, so I kept the background of my card quit simple.

That's it for today. I'll be back later this week with some more projects I have done.

Enjoy the weather. It is Beautiful over here.

Paulien

Yah... I got my Swirlydoos kit

It was late this month, but so worth the waiting!!! lol
Here's is a picture of the Swirlydoos May, * So Chic * kit

Today is Card Day over at Swirlydoos, and as you know, the card section is under my wings.
Every week I think of something new and do a step by step photo tutorial.
I post the rules at the bottom of each tutorial and each challenge has a deadline of 5 weeks.
Yep that's right. 5 weeks
The challenge is open to anyone
So if you feel like making some cards, Come on over and play along.

Today it was time for: Shapes or Fun things.
(which means, shapes of cards or fun little boxes etc etc)

And for today I wanted to do a different shape of card. So I put my thinking cap on and came up with this design:

and some close ups:

This card design, is awesome for a Mothersday card, don't you think?!

A step by step photo tutorial for,  *how* I created this card can be found here:

Well I better get my butt off of here, cause I have some scrapping to do, with that Gorgeous May kit.
I hope to see you at Swirlydoos.

Paulien
